Councilman Greg Lucero began his four-year term on the Nogales City Council in January 2015 and was elected Vice-Mayor in March 2015. Mr. Lucero is Vice-President of Wildcat Silver and currently serves as the Government Committee Chairman for the Nogales Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves the community on the Greater Nogales Santa Cruz County Port Authority, Nogales Rotary Club, Nogales Noon Lions, and is a member of the International City/County Manager's Association.
Mr. Lucero served as the Santa Cruz County Manager from 2001-2010. He also served as the special assistant to U.S. Senator Dennis DeConcini, special assistant to Governor Bruce Babbitt, an aide to Tucson City Council Member Sharon Hekman, an aide to U.S. Representative Jim McNulty. Originally from Douglas, Arizona, Mr. Lucero graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and completed coursework towards a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Mr. Lucero resides in Nogales with his wife and two children.
