Office of the Mayor

The Mayor is the chairman of the City Council and presides over its meetings. The mayor participates in the actions of the City Council and has a voice and vote in all matters brought to the City Council.

The Mayor is the recognized head of the city government but has no regular administrative duties. The Mayor signs and makes proclamations and is the political leader of the City at the local, state, federal, and international levels.

The mayor is elected at large by the qualified voters of the City of Nogales for a four-year term. The mayor is limited to only two consecutive terms in office.
