Responsible for administration of the Nogales Fire Department. Work includes technical, administrative and supervisory work in planning, organizing, directing, and implementing fire prevention, suppression and emergency medical services to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire and emergency medical conditions. In addition, the Fire Chief is responsible in directing the preparation of the department annual budget and develops short- and long-range plans and objectives to improve department services. Works under the general supervision of the City Manager.
Education, Training, and Experience
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Management or related field, and ten (10) years of increasingly responsible command and supervisory experience in an organized fire department of comparable size, and complexity. Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
Certification as Chief Fire Officer by the Commission on Professional Credentialing, Center for Public Safety Excellence. A Master’s Degree in the above quoted fields. Spanish language fluency.
Position is full time, FLSA: Non-Exempt. Salary Range: 78 ($73,106 - $102,418 DOQ) annually + Benefits.
